"Even in the darkest time...The Lights must never go out, The Music must always play."
After about 2 months, I am finally coming out of the darkness and into the light. :) My tarot card reader keeps pulling up 'The Queen of Strife' card and most recently, 'The King of Strife'. And, seemingly, the cards don't lie.
And now, another ascension has begun. Feature films being released right and left on DVD(Redbox, Netflix, Blockbuster, Amazon, etc.) Video On Demand, iTunes, Amazon Instant, as well as in Theaters and Multiplexs in foreign territories. A new series currently airing on CBS. An offer to star in a new FOX series in development. And, writing hit after hit for a new album scheduled to record in December.
Not to mention upcoming traveling for celebrity guest appearances at conventions, live touring of my new musical act/material, & location shoots. Seeing the world with my work! One of my many goals I am accomplishing one day at a time, every month, of every year, until I'm there!

Losing a member of your Dream Team :(
When I left off on Monday July 11th that the release of my debut album Actress was simply "hours aways", I had no idea that what was really hours away was the loss of my most pivotal member of my "dream team".
I had looked for approximately 10 years to find someone in the entertainment industry who was as excited about my career & believed in the success of my career as much as me. Once I found him, I lost him. His name was David Carr & he became not only my Hero in the short time(approximately 2 years) that I knew him, but he became my most valued asset.
He died suddenly on July 12th. I was waiting for him to call me back & we had made plans to get together not only to sign final paperwork re: my album, etc., but we were going to celebrate. David had said to me, "there is so much to celebrate now & what is right around the corner in the future." I had called him twice that day & sent him two emails to no avail. Needless to say, I got a phone call informing me of the tragedy late that night.
It made me realize how important it is to tell everyone that you worship, respect, & adore how much you truly love them everytime you communicate with them & as much as possible, because you never know when they might be taken from you unexpectedly.
After 18 months of recording approximately 50 songs on 4 different projects/groups, & all the blood, pain, & literal death that occured, 12 songs have been blessed to see the light of day. And, I dedicated the album to David, but I was not able to locate the dedication in the liner notes online, however it is there, somewhere.-- "I dedicate this album in loving memory to David Carr. You will always be my "rainbow"."

'Most Played' list on Top 40 station!
Guess who's debut single has made the 'Most Played' playlist on the most popular Top 40 station in South America??? Yep, you guessed it, MINE DID!!!
"World's On Fire" made the #38 spot on the 'Most Played' playlist(out of 40) on Radio Doble Nueve 99.1FM in Lima, Peru, which is apparently the most popular Top 40 radio station in South America!

VICTORIA DE MARE, "WORLD'S ON FIRE"
203 views. Mmmm... I'd prefer 2,000,003 views, of course. I currently have 625 "Friends" on Facebook, but it seems that more than half of them aren't being very supportive or "friendly".
The overall response to the video has been very positive. I even got an "EXCELLENT" comment in an email from my harshist critic! But, some unknown entity gave it a 'dislike' or 'thumbs down' on YouTube & that just really gets under my finger nails!
That unknown entity is either A) a hater B) a-sexual or C) both!

"World's On Fire" on Radio Doble Nueve 99.1FM in Lima, Peru!
When you have airplay of a song on FM radio, or any radio for that matter, the dream is to get requests from stations that heard your song on another station & want to add it to their rotation on their station!
Well, once again, that dream became a reality for me on Monday. I was delighted & a bit stunned, actually, to find an email from the CEO of Radio Doble Nueve 99.1FM in Lima, Peru requesting an mp3 copy of Victoria De Mare's "World's On Fire" to add to their rotation. He wrote that he had heard it playing on KROQ FM via MediaBase online & wanted to play it on his station, too.
His request was immediately granted, of course, & I received an email back from him that same day saying "thank you" & that it would start on rotation today(which was Monday 27th).
Believe it or not, shortly after that, I received an email from a fan that told me that he was a professor of English & Spanish at a small liberal arts college in Oklahoma & that he heard "World's On Fire" on El Sotano De Radio 3 AM/FM in Madrid, Spain via the internet, & that he loved it, & purchased the single from Amazon.
WOW! It is beginning to take on a life of its own & spread like wildfire! In the words of Rodney Bingenheimer, "World's On Fire" is "a hit!" True that, Rodney, my dear!

Vic in theaters on the BIG SCREEN!!!
In 2001, I shot an internet thriller/murder mystery feature film called Strangers OnLine written, directed & produced by John Huckert. Last June 2010, it premiered at the Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood, CA. I got a call Friday night from John telling me that it had gotten picked up with a selected city theatrical release!-(as well as DVD, Cable, & Video On Demand to follow) :)
Needless to say, I am thrilled! I play a fun supporting character & I have billing with a shared credit title card at the end of the credits in the beginning of the film! :)
Strangers OnLine opens at the Sunset 5 Laemmle Theatre in West Hollywood, CA. as well as the Playhouse 7 Laemmle Theatre in Pasadena, CA. on Friday June 24th.

Returning to Network TV!
To my delight, today I booked a funny guest starring role on a new CBS series airing in the Fall! Yippee! And, Yahoo! This will be so fun! I am very much looking forward to it. :)
Now, hopefully, I will make the final cut of the episode & not the cutting room floor like I did last year on 'Glee'. :) Last spring, I worked on 'Glee' in an awesome featured day player role. I thought for sure I would make the final cut of the episode because my scene was with stars Lea Michele(who was mean & very difficult to work with, by the way) & Cory Monteith(who was super nice & the easiest to work with).
I sat watching the episode with a dear friend eagerly waiting for my scene to no avail. Needless to say, I was devastated & embarassed, since I told everyone about my gig & appearance on the show.
Let's hope I have better luck on CBS than I did on FOX!

I'm Officially a Blogger!
Well, hello you wonderful world & all the amazing creatures who inhabit this beautiful planet, today Victoria De Mare has officially become a Blogger & it feels great!
I will have tons of topics to discuss on definitely a weekly basis & possibly sometimes a daily basis.
My life & career is currently evolving to a most incredible level & I must admit that it can be as scary as hell at the same time it is euphoric.
There are absolutely NO guarantees in my business-the "Entertainment" business-but, there is one fact that always brings me comfort-if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything!
Everything is possible, but it is up to you to really believe that &, if you do, then by the laws of basic physics, you CAN make all your dreams come true!
All my love to my family & every single one of my fans! It is your belief & love that keeps me going every day.
